One small step for IT, a giant leap for EA

On Monday, February 23rd two major industry organizations announced a merger that will create the largest professional body of enterprise architects in the world. The Association of Open Group Enterprise Architects (AOGEA) and the Global Enterprise Architecture Organization (GEAO) have now joined together to jointly focus on advancing the enterprise architecture profession by developing and helping to enforce standards of excellence and ethics for all of its members. With the merger the AOGEA and GEAO member base has reached 9,000 professionals that span across 72 countries.

Both organizations share a mutual intention to advance the learning, development and success of industry architects by focusing on networking, educational programs and services as well as skill development and establishing professional standards. Now one entity, the AOGEA and GEAO merger is undoubtedly a giant leap ahead for current and future enterprise architects.
